Saint George Greek Orthodox Church Chicago

SUNDAY SCHOOL

All children, ages 3 and older are welcome to participate in religious education and worship. Sunday School classes are held each Sunday following Holy Communion. Sunday school lessons focus on the basics of Orthodoxy, Christ's teachings, church hymns and traditions. The Archdiocesan yearly theme is integrated into lessons.


GREEK SCHOOL

Meeting weekly on Saturdays, this ministry provides the children of the community lessons in the Greek language, religion, and culture.


ADULT RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

This ministry meets every Wednesday evening of nearly the entire year.  Their purpose is to learn and discuss the Bible, as well as major feast days, dogma and traditions of the Orthodox Church.



FEED THE HUNGRY

This ministry is comprised of a wide spectrum of members of the church community.  The purpose of this ministry is to provide food and other items to the less fortunate.



YOUTH MINISTRIES

Little Angels playgroup - Ages 40 days to 4 years old.

HOPE - Hellenic Orthodox Primary Education for children kindergarten to second grade.

JOY - Junior Orthodox Youth for children 3rd grade through 6th grade.

GOYA- Greek Orthodox Youth of America for youths 7th grade through 12th grade.

YAL - Young Adults League for individuals 18 years of age through 35 years of age.
