Our HOPE/JOY meets on alternate Saturdays and provides an opportunity for children to learn about our faith and culture in a fun safe environment. Fall sessions meet every other Saturday, alternating with Bitty Basketball.
HOPE/JOY ministers to our young children from ages 3-11. We focus on fellowship among the youth in our community as well as a lesson that is relevant to the youth and their faith.
HOPE/JOY plant the seeds in our youth so that they can begin to grow the roots of a Christ-centered home with their families.

Prison Ministry: Justice, Redemption, and the Power of Community
Justice, Redemption, and the Power of Community
The Ladies Philoptochos Society, in partnership with Cabrini Green Legal Aid (CGLA), will host a special event on Friday, April 3, 2026, at St. George Church as part of our Prison Ministry outreach.
Join us for an engaging and meaningful conversation about the human side of justice involvement and how compassionate community support can help individuals rebuild their lives and move forward after incarceration.
Through dialogue and shared perspectives, we hope to deepen understanding, foster empathy, and explore ways our community can make a positive impact.
Program will include:

Holy Friday Retreat
HOLY FRIDAY CHILDREN’S RETREAT AT ST. GEORGE
Children ages 4 years old through 8th grade are invited to participate in the annual St. George Church Holy Friday Retreat, on April 10th.
Children participating in the Good Friday Retreat are asked to arrive at St. George by 10:15 am. Activities will begin promptly at 10:30 am and end at 2:30 pm.
To help prevent serious food allergies, we ask that attendees bring their own Lenten lunch. Please do not pack lunches containing tree nuts or any nut-based ingredients, such as peanut butter.
The Ladies Educational Society will provide refreshments and other small goodies.
To ensure that enough materials are available for everyone, please register your child(ren) by the registration deadline of Thursday, April 2nd. Since space is limited, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
Children ages 4 and 5 who attend preschool must be accompanied by an adult during the retreat.

Walk-a-thon sponsored by Philoptochos
Walk-a-thon offered to Philoptochos on April 25, 2026!
This will be our 8th Walk-a-thon! Join us and walk from St. George Church to Annunciation Cathedral.
Registration: 8:30 am - Walk Starts at: 9:00 am
Participation Fee: Minimum $30.00. You may also secure sponsors per mile completed or for the entire walk.

Distance between St. George and Annunciation is 2.5 miles.
Walk is estimated to take about one hour.
Walk-a-thon will be held, rain or shine.
We will meet at St. George and start walking as a group to Annunciation Cathedral.
