Greek School

On March 7, our Greek School had the great honor of welcoming His Excellency Antonis Alexandridis, Ambassador of Greece to the United States, together with Mr. Koubarakis, Consul General of Greece in Chicago, and Georgia Tasiopoulou, Consul.

Students and teachers led by our school director, k. Jinie, presented a preview of our upcoming March 25th program, which will take place on March 21. Photos and highlights of our school were displayed throughout the Community Center for our guests to enjoy.

While viewing photos of Holy Week, Ambassador Alexandridis was especially impressed to see that our students participate in the Holy Friday services. He commented on how wonderful it is to see young people actively involved in these meaningful traditions.

On behalf of our church community, our director, k. Jinie, extended an invitation to the Ambassador to join us for Holy Week this year, which he greatly appreciated.

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open

Under the spiritual guidance of Father Chrysanthos and Father Joseph along with the direction of our Principal Jinie Papaioannou, St George Greek Orthodox Church considers the Hellenic School as an equally essential ministry in importance with the teaching ministry of our Orthodox faith and makes every effort to keep the cost to a minimum while offering the best possible education of any Hellenic School.

In making the final preparations for our classes for the 2025-2026 school year, including scheduling teachers and curriculum needs, lesson plans, and educational materials, it’s important that we know the number of students at each academic level. For this reason, we ask that you consider registering today.

Staff will be available to register students on Sundays after Divine Liturgy, starting August 17th. Remember, we require the “Registration Form” and “Emergency Form” for each child.

Greek School meets every Saturday from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Fr. Chrysanthos and Fr. Joseph will start our new school year with Agiasmo
on September 13, 2025.
